Turtle & Whale Hub is a Cook Islands-based creative and educational initiative connecting people with the ocean through meaningful experiences, photography, storytelling and shared learning.
Inspired by the marine environment of the Cook Islands, the Hub is being developed as a space where people can slow down, observe, explore and develop a deeper appreciation for the wildlife, places and communities around them.
We believe that meaningful experiences begin with curiosity, understanding and respect. Photography may be part of that journey, but the photograph is a bonus to the experience itself.
Through marine experiences, photography, masterclasses, storytelling and future educational and conservation initiatives, Turtle & Whale Hub aims to bring together creativity, local knowledge and a growing understanding of the Cook Islands’ marine environment.
We are also developing opportunities for people to engage with photography in different ways — from learning how to take their own photographs, to visiting the Hub to have images edited, printed or developed into meaningful visual stories.
Our long-term vision is to create a place where photographs, observations and stories can help people learn more about the animals, places and moana around us, while encouraging community involvement, knowledge-sharing and a deeper sense of care for the environment.
The Hub is currently in its development phase, with a selection of experiences and creative offerings available while we continue building towards this broader vision.
